What is The Hadley Institute for the Blind
The Hadley Institute for the Blind is a distance learning school that offers free courses and additional resources for those who are blind or have low vision.
This organization was founded by William Hadley in 1920. He was a teacher who lost his sight at age 55. He taught himself to read braille and wanted to reach out to others who were facing vision loss.
All courses are taught via mail correspondence or online, so it is a remote learning environment.
What you can learn at The Hadley institute for the Blind
Hadley offers a variety of courses from braille to assistive technology to recreation to adjusting to vision loss and much more. All courses are free to those with documentation of their vision impairment.
I took some of their braille courses and I had a great instructor and a great learning experience.

This organization also offers workshops and support groups for those in the blind and low vision community including a podcast where you will find helpful advice on all aspects of life with vision loss.
