#AToZChallenge Day 6: Freedom

The word freedom appears on a white background

My theme for this year’s A to Z Challenge is faith and encouragement from a Christian point of view. I hope that you can look back on these posts when you are in need of some encouragement and that these posts will be helpful for you. I address these posts to myself as well.

Freedom

When we think of freedom we may get an image of someone being released from a prison cell. There are many other aspects when it comes to freedom. As a Christian we can rejoice in the freedom that comes with being saved.

When you put your trust in Jesus Christ and ask him to save you your sins are immediately forgiven. This is because his sacrifice on the cross was enough and the only way  that your sins could be erased. Now this does not mean you will stop sinning. You will continue to sin as long as you are on this earth. Youwill also continue to   face  consequences for your actions on this earth. Yes you will still sin on this earth but when you die and go to heaven those sins will not be on your account.

As a Christian you have the power to say no to sin.

You have the Holy Ghost. You have self control. You are called to walk in newness of life.

You are strong enough to say no to drugs.

You are strong enough to say no to stealing.

You are strong enough to say no. You are no longer a slave. You are a soldier of God.

Go live in this gift of freedom.

Here is a bonus, you are free from eternal punishment.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
John 8:36 KJV

Bible verse source

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
