#AToZChallenge Day 9: Inspiration

The word inspiration appears on a flame. This is on a black background.

My theme for this year’s A to Z Challenge is faith and encouragement from a Christian perspective. I hope that these posts will encourage you during this month and beyond. We are living in hard times with more hard times up ahead. As a Christian I find my hope and strength in God. I hope to share this hope with you all through these posts.

Inspiration

Today I want to remind you of some encouraging biblical accounts that will inspire you to keep going and not to give up no matter what you are facing in life. Do not let the winds of fear dash your light. Keep the flame alive. Nothing is impossible for God.

God parted the Red Sea

The people of Israel had just left Egypt where they were once slaves. They are soon faced with a large obstacle as the Red Sea is in their path and there is no where else to turn. The king of Egypt and his army went after Israel and caught up to them. God saved the people of Israel by parting the sea. There was a wall of water on each side and the people of Israel walked across the sea to the other side on dry land. You can read the account here.

God protected 3 men inside of a fire filled furnace

The king of Babylon made an image and he forced all of the people to worship it. The punishment for going against this order was death. There were three men who refused to obey this order because they chose to obey God instead of men. They were punished by being bound and thrown into a fire filled furnace. God protected them and this is what the king witnessed.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, came forth of the midst of the fire. And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
Daniel 3:24‭-‬27 KJV

God has opened the door to eternal life

Jesus Christ the son of God, came down to earth and became flesh and took on the punishment on the cross meant for you and me. He died so that we could live forever. He rose to life again and is waiting for you to call upon him for salvation. Learn more here.

Some extra thoughts

I hope that these accounts inspired you to keep hoping, keep believing for nothing is impossible for God. He even protected Daniel from lions when he was thrown into the lion’s den. You can read this account here.

Read Hebrews 11 here to learn more about what God can do.
