#AToZChallenge Day 12: Love

The word love is in dark red outlined in white on a dark red background.

My theme for this year’s A to Z Challenge is faith and encouragement from a Christian point of view. I hope these posts are an encouragement to you. I am addressing these posts to myself as well.

When you ask most people to define love you will most likely get the response that love is a feeling. People may say they have love for their family or friends or pets. Love is not just a feeling, it is also an action.

The Bible says that we must love in action and in truth. “18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.”  (1 John 3:18 KJV)

Easter is approaching and it is the time to reflect on the greatest demonstration of love that we have ever seen. Jesus Christ, the son of God became a human. He became just like us, being born and growing up facing all the challenges we face in life. The difference is that he never sinned. He lived a perfect life and then took on the punishment that we all deserve.

He was nailed to the cross for our sins in our place so that we could escape the punishment. His sacrifice was enough to pay and remove our sin. We receive this forgiveness and gift of eternal life with God by fully trusting in what he has done and calling upon him for salvation. He that believes that the son has everlasting life read John 3:36 KJV here

Some extra thoughts

I hope this encourages you today. Remember you are loved. God is waiting for you to accept his gift of eternal life through his only begotten son Jesus Christ. This gift is worth more than the most brilliant diamond.

Jesus Christ did not stay dead. He rose to life again on the third day and doing so he defeated death. Call upon him while you have a chance.
