#AToZChallenge Day 18: Revival

The word revival appears in white on a dark red background.

My theme for this year’s A to Z Challenge is faith and encouragement from a Christian point of view. I hope these posts are an encouragement to you. I am addressing these posts to myself as well.

Revival

I think that a true revival is needed today in the modern church. Now I want to be clear, I am directing this to myself as well. I need to have a personal revival in my own life. I think it is very easy to get caught up in this world and forget what we are truly living for as believers.

I want to live my life in a way that honors God. I was reading the book Why Revival Tarries by Leonard Ravenhill. One of his main points is that revival begins with prayer. I want to continue to pray more and be more focussed.

I think of the puritans and how they made it a point to live out their faith. I want to live a life separate unto God. This does not mean I leave society and hide away in the woods. This means that I obey the word of God and practice what it says when it comes to all aspects of my life.

I pray that the whole world will see a revival. I pray that believers would live out their faith and share the gospel with the lost. I am trying to share the gospel more often as well. I pray that many will be saved because you never know how close we are to the end.

Let us keep our eyes on Jesus Christ and keep going. Yes we can still have fun with hobbies and all of the things we do in daily life but we must not lose focus of the real purpose we have on this earth.

I hope this encourages you today. Here is a song that touches on this topic.
