My theme for this year’s A to Z Challenge is faith and encouragement from a Christian point of view. I hope these posts are an encouragement to you. I am addressing these posts to myself as well.
X-ray
x-rays are used to get a look at the inside of the body. Have you ever thought of giving yourself an x-ray? It is important to x-ray your life every once in a while.
Now before I go on, I want to make it clear again that good behavior does not earn you the ticket of salvation. You are not saved by your good works, you are only saved by faith in Jesus Christ, trusting he did all the work for you.
However once a person is saved they should live a life that honors God.
It is easy for us all to get caught up in our outward appearance. We can do all of the right things on the outside. We can go to church, we can dress the part and we can even talk. The real question that we must ask is does this truly reflect what is on the inside, or is it covering a sickness?
Jesus Christ addressed this topic in Matthew 23:25-28. You can read more here.
I am writing this to myself as well. I have to look inside my own life and my mind and see what sickness of sin is inside. This can be greed or envy or hate or being selfish. This can be inappropriate thoughts or watching or listening to the wrong things. I can not do this on my own. I must let the word of God point out all of the sickness that is inside.
The word must x-ray my life.
“12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 KJV)
