Reflections: Peace in Wildest Storms

The world today is in chaos. When we look at the news there is not much positivity to be found.

We see crime rising. It seems unsafe to take a relaxing walk outdoors because you don’t know if you will return home.

When we look at the economy we see the rise of inflation. Did you ever think you would see the price of eggs go this high?

War is still present in our world. The war in Ukraine is still going on and the end is not near.

Tuning into all of these things will quickly rob you of any peace you may have had. The truth is that you will never find true peace in this world. True peace comes from God and you can only come to him through his only begotten son Jesus Christ.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

I wrote this poem titled “In Wildest Storms” on the peace I find in Jesus Christ even in the middle of this chaotic and uncertain world.

I hope that this poem will encourage you today. I share short encouraging devotionals like this each week. I hope you will come back again. You can read more devotionals here.
