Sometimes you may feel like your life is falling apart. Sometimes you may feel that everything is out of control.

If you are a Christian you do not have to worry about this because God is your father and he is in control.

I have a hard time with this. I find it hard to let go of control.

I want to let God shape my life and not try to shape it for myself.

I want to accept what comes and trust that God is in control.

One verse that came to my mind was Jeremiah 18:6

O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.”

I wrote a poem called “The Potter” reflecting on how God is the potter and we are the clay.

The Potter (Original Poem)

You mold and shape.
Who can ask how?
You give and take
You deter and allow.

As you open and close
As you begin and end.
All in your control,
You break and you bend.

Holding the clay in your hands
Holding our days.
Your purpose will stand
Keep shaping this clay.

You can listen to the spoken word version of this poem below.

I hope this will encourage you today. God loves you and he will always have the best for you even when it seems hard. Trust God and leave your life in his hands.
