Text reads may your heart sing. Text is white in script font on a brown background.

Today I would just like to share an album that has encouraged me. I enjoy listening to the old hymns. I hope that these songs will encourage you today and that they will make your heart sing as well.

Reflections: Change Can Be a Good Thing

Photo Description
Text reads change can be a good thing. Background is a yellow brown

In the United States where I live, autumn begins on Wednesday. This season reminds me that change can be a good thing sometimes. Yes some things are lost or stripped away but so much beauty is there at the same time.

This is a time to leave the past behind and to embrace the beauty that is ahead.

I wrote this poem years ago on this thought.

Autumn (Original Poem)

Leaves fall, autumn arrives.
Change is coming time flies by.
Colors move from shade to shade
Change is coming though its time it takes.

The autumn feel, the wind so crisp.
A new beginning as the past falls away.
Change is coming soon
Watch the colors as they change. The song that autumn plays
A song announcing change
See the beauty in the leaves
The beauty in the shades.

Reflections: You are Strong Enough to Say No!

Listen to this! Sometimes you just have to say nO and you are strong enough to do this.

It seems that the traditional values and morals once held by society are all but gone. It is becoming even more rare to find people walking in the old paths.

I am a Christian and I am learning that walking on the correct path can sometimes be a lonely one and there will be times when the answer will have to be NO. I am learning that I have to be willing to say NO to some friendships or other relationships in order to walk on the correct path. I have had to do this a few times. This can be a scary thing to do but I remind myself that it is worth it in the end. I will have to have to say no to certain kinds of music and other content to walk on the correct path. I am not perfect and I am still in this process and I will be on it until I am taken to heaven.

God gives me the strength to say NO. It is a daily battle but he gives me the strength I need each day. I have started reading the book of Proverbs and it has been very encouraging to me.

Proverbs 4:25-27 KJV — Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

I hope this encourages you and gives you the strength to just say NO.

Reflections: Hard Work is Rewarded

Text reads hard work is rewarded.
Text is black on a light gray background.

Today I want to remind you that your work is rewarded. People here on earth may not acknowledge or appreciate your work but God sees your work.

This is not just about working for a boss, but this goes beyond that. When you help others, that is work. When you share the gospel, that is work. When you read the Bible and pray for others, that is work.

Do not quit doing the work.

1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV — Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

This verse came to my mind today as it is Labor Day here in the United States. I hope this encourages you to keep working whether or not you get paid for it because all work is rewarded in the end.

Reflections: God is Watching over You

Today I want to share some encouraging Bible verses that remind me that God is watching over every believer. He also does look out for those who do not believe giving them many chances to believe the truth. When you become a believer you are adopted by God and become his child. His children have a higher level of protection. So come get under his wing while you have the chance.

Psalm 91:1-2 KJV — He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Isaiah 43:2 KJV — When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

John 16:33 KJV — These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

I hope that this encouraged you today. What are some verses that encourage you?
